Proof of ownership such as the title, registration form, renewal slip, or application for title; and. Proof of insurance on the vehicle being licensed; and. Valid safety inspection on the vehicle, most new vehicles do not require a safety inspection; and.
A basic Missouri bill of sale contains the following information on the buyer, seller, and the object being sold: The legal names of the parties (printed) The bill of sales details about the object being sold. The sum for which the item was sold, as well as both parties signatures.
Missouris bills of sale for automobiles can be docHubd, but it isnt legally required. The seller is, however, required to fill out an odometer disclosure statement form. A bill of sale is required to register a vehicle in Missouri, and the seller also needs to fill out a Notice of Sale (Form 5049).
When you apply for a title, you must submit a bill of sale or Notice of Sale (Form 5049) for the vehicle that you sold and the purchase (or contract to purchase) and sale dates must be within 180 days of one another. You do not have to purchase a like vehicle to qualify for a sales tax allowance.
General Affidavit Form (DOR-768) Non-Use (notary required): Must be completed when applicant asks to license a vehicle that has not been operated on the highways, and applicant wishes to have registration fee prorated. Submitting an affidavit of non-use does NOT exempt the applicant from applicable renewal penalties.
To apply for a duplicate title, you must submit: An Application for Missouri Title and License (Form 108) Document, completed in full and signed, including the following: If applicable, a docHubd Lien Release (Form 4809) is required. Submit an $8.50 duplicate title fee and a $6 processing fee.
You have 30 days from the date of purchase to title and pay sales tax on your newly purchased vehicle. If you do not title the vehicle within 30 days, there is a title penalty of $25 on the 31st day after purchase. The penalty increases another $25 for every 30 days you are late with a maximum penalty of $200.
One of the following ownership documents: The Certificate of Title, properly signed over to you (see instructions), or Manufacturers Statement of Origin (MSO); Bill of Sale (Form 1957); Notice of Sale (Form 5049); or. A Missouri Application for Title and License (Form 108) signed by the dealer.
