for years and years ive been putting rj45 plugs onto ethernet cables like this with closed plugs where you have to measure the length or guess like this and then hope and pray they all align up fully and properly at the tip and dont swap places inside without you realizing until its too late and then crimping with one of these standard tools although i got pretty good at it ive still lost count over the years of the number of times ive had to snip an end off and start again from scratch wasting a plug which cant be used again and making the cable shorter and shorter with each failure well now theres a better way using a slightly different type of rj45 plug and a different crimping tool you will need a drum of ethernet cable probably either cat5e cat6 or possibly even cat6a it will depend on your use case but we wont get into the differences in this video rj45 plugs make sure you buy pass-through plugs sometimes called snap plugs and optionally the strain relief boots which help

The Cat6 wiring diagram can follow either the T568A or T568B standard. Both standards dictate the order in which the eight individual wires within the Cat 6 cable are arranged to form the RJ45 connector. The difference between the two is the position of the orange and green wire pairs.
Definitely not! Selecting the correct 8P8C (aka RJ45) connector for your Ethernet data cable is entirely dependent upon the type and construction of the cable to be run. Technically, Category has nothing to do with it. It is all about fitment.
Bob Smith termination uses four 75 Ohm resistors (2 for Rx, 2 for Tx) and a capacitor to provide an impedance-matched path back to a ground point in the system.
AKA: RJ45 Size: 11.68mm Wide x 7.24mm High, (looking on the front face) Common use: Data Network connections commonly terminated onto Cat5e and Cat6 type cables. Notes: 8 Positions, 8 Contacts present.
You have the choice of two different standards when youre terminating copper cables. One is the T568A and the other is the T568B. These are two different termination standards. So you would usually pick the one that youd like to use and stay with that termination standard throughout the installation of your cables.
The Cat6 standard delivers the maximum performance of 250 MHz, compared to the Category 5 and 5e specifications of 100 MHz. Cat6 cables provide infrastructure for the following networks: 10BASE-T (Ethernet), 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet), 1000BASE-T/1000BASE-TX (Gigabit Ethernet) and 10GBASE-T (10-Gigabit Ethernet).
Cat 6 patch cables are normally terminated in 8P8C modular connectors, using either T568A or T568B pin assignments; performance is comparable provided both ends of a cable are terminated identically.
T568A and T568B can be used in a variety of applications, including home, commercial, and industrial. In home networks, either standard can be used, but T568B is more common because it matches the color code used by most network equipment manufacturers.
