The links in the lesson plan are the connections between the objective of learning and the assessment.
The link practice may be defined as a process of selection, organization and utilization of different teaching skills to form an effective pattern for realizing the specified instructional objectives in a given teaching learning situation18.
One important aspect of SEL is addressing the size of the problem. The size of the problem refers to the magnitude or significance of a situation or event, and understanding this concept is essential for developing appropriate emotional responses and problem-solving skills.
Examples of small problems would be when a friend doesnt want to play with you, someone will not share with you, someone is making noises while you are trying to work, butting in line, gossiping and not playing fairly. Examples of BIG problems would be physical aggression, stealing and threats.
Size of the Problem is a social skills concept used to help students identify the severity of their problems which then allows them to choose an appropriate reaction. When students have a common language to describe their problems and reactions, they can identify solutions.
A medium problem is something that would generally need adult assistance but can be solved fairly quickly. A younger student who returns to their classroom space after using the bathroom only to find the class is not in their room, is a medium problem. That student might need teacher help to locate their class.
Example: Small Problem: You forgot today was dress up day at school. Medium Problem: Your best friend doesnt want to play with you anymore. Big Problem: Your parents are getting a divorce.
What is a medium problem? ProblemReactionSolution Scraped your knee A little crying, maybe saying ouch! once Go to the nurses office for a bandaid Forgot your lunch at home feeling a little frustrated, you might cry or whine from being hungry Ask your teacher to call your parents to drop off your lunch
