By default, the IMPORTRANGE function recalculates every 30 minutes (source).
Create a new sheet or go into an existing sheet and let's set it up. You'll begin with the same process as you would when using any function—click a blank cell so that you can access the function bar. In it, type =IMPORTRANGE. This is the function keyword we can use for importing sheet data.

Permission & access Wait a few seconds after you complete your IMPORTRANGE function. A #REF! error opens and prompts, “You need to connect these sheets. Allow Access.” To grant the permission to the source spreadsheet, click Allow Access.
Unfortunately, we cannot specify multiple spreadsheets or multiple sheets via the IMPORTRANGE function. The function works with only one range from a single source specified.
Is there IMPORTRANGE in Excel? There are many functions in Excel, such as VLOOKUP Excel or SUMIF Excel. However, there is no IMPORTRANGE function. At the same time, Excel provides a similar to IMPORTRANGE functionality for linking a data range from a separate spreadsheet.
Switch to Excel and open the worksheet that has data that you want to import. Select the range of cells that contain the data that you want to import. Right-click within the selected range and then click Name a Range or Define Name. In the New Name dialog box, specify a name for the range in the Name box and click OK.
Use the IMPORTRANGE function In Sheets, open a spreadsheet. In an empty cell, enter =IMPORTRANGE. In parenthesis, add the following specifications in quotation marks and separated by a comma*: The URL of the spreadsheet in Sheets. ... Press Enter. Click Allow access to connect the 2 spreadsheets.
