were going to be demonstrating graph preparation for all inside ACL reconstruction using a quadrupled semitendinosus tendon to make the graph link as you can see the graph measures 27 centimeters in length and this can be quadrupled and with a 27 centimeter graft this gives between 65 and 70 millimeters in length for the graph link the ACL tightropes are loaded onto the graph preparation station such that all graph preparation can be carried out without an assistant first we take a small hemostat and bring the end of the semitendinosus graft through the first ACL tightrope and then through the second this thing creates a short length and a long length as can be seen the longer end is then brought back through both ACL tight ropes to create a quadruple graft with two free ends to free ends are then sutured together with a mattress suture using zero fiber wire in isolation the pullout strength of this knot is not great but once its been incorporated into the graph link weve tested th

For example, an ACL tear often occurs along with tears to the MCL and the shock-absorbing cartilage in the knee (meniscus). Most ACL tears occur in the middle of the ligament, or the ligament is pulled off the thigh bone. These injuries form a gap between the torn edges, and do not heal on their own.
The ACL arises from the anteromedial aspect of the intercondylar area on the tibial plateau and passes upwards and backwards to attach to the posteromedial aspect of the lateral femoral condyle.
The midsubstance of the ligament has a rounded or elliptical cross-section, with an oval isthmus and larger insertion areas, so the ACL also has been described as having the shape of an hourglass55 or a bow tie56.
Double bundle ACLR surgical technique The arthroscopically-assisted double bundle ACLR operative technique involved autologous harvesting of semitendinosus and gracilis tendons to form two distinct grafts. Tibial tunnels were drilled based on the tibial ACL footprint with anterior-lateral and posterior-medial tunnels.
Cruciate Ligaments These are found inside your knee joint. They cross each other to form an X, with the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in front and the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in back. The cruciate ligaments control the front and back motion of your knee.
The articular cartilage provides lubrication and as a result, there is very little friction when the joint moves. This joint cartilage can get damaged when the ACL tears and the joint is compressed in an abnormal way. If this articular cartilage is injured, the joint no longer moves smoothly.
The ACL has a microstructure of collagen bundles of multiple types (mostly type I) and a matrix made of a network of proteins, glycoproteins, elastic systems, and glycosaminoglycans with multiple functional interactions.
The anterior cruciate ligament originates at the medial wall of the lateral femoral condyle and inserts into the middle of the intercondylar area. It contributes significantly to the stabilization and kinematics of the knee joint.
Abstract. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) consists of two major fiber bundles, namely the anteromedial and posterolateral bundle. When the knee is extended, the posterolateral bundle (PL) is tight and the anteromedial (AM) bundle is moderately lax.
The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is located inside the knee, just behind the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). It is one of several ligaments that connect the femur (thighbone) to the tibia (shinbone). The posterior cruciate ligament keeps the tibia from moving backward with relation to the thigh bone.
