Here's how: Click on File, then select Printer Setup. Set Form Name to 1099s/1096. Set the correct Printer Type. Click the Align button and enter the correct alignment values. Click OK.
In the Report Definition window, select Layout. In the Report Layout, move the appropriate fields so that they align with the preprinted 1099 form. On the File menu, select Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains. When you are prompted to save changes, select Save.
If you receive a Form 1099-MISC or Form 1099-NEC that reports your miscellaneous income, that information also goes to the IRS. If you don't include this and any other taxable income on your tax return, you may be subject to a penalty. Failing to report income may cause your return to understate your tax liability.
Once you have your totals, you can edit the 1099 amounts as necessary in Dynamics GP. To edit your 1099 details, go to Purchasing > Cards > 1099 Details. Enter the Vendor ID, and select "Display by Year." Make sure that you are viewing the correct year.
I'd like to give some details on the 1099-NEC alignment and how you can tune and print it properly....Here's how: Click on File, then select Printer Setup. Set Form Name to 1099s/1096. Set the correct Printer Type. Click the Align button and enter the correct alignment values. Click OK.
IRS reporting Once the IRS thinks that you owe additional tax on your unreported 1099 income, it will usually notify you and retroactively charge you penalties and interest beginning on the first day they think that you owed additional tax.
You won't file the 1099-DIV with the Internal Revenue Service, but you will need the information it reports when preparing your tax return.
If the 1099-MISC reflects income for someone who is self-employed, you would link (press F9) from line 1 of the Federal Schedule C to a New 1099MISC. If it was miscellaneous income as a subcontractor or babysitter, etc., link from Sch 1 line 8 to a New 1099MISC.
1099- Account mapping Go to the Vendors tab, then click on Vendor Center. Tap on the vendor's name. Go to the Tax Settings section, then mark the box beside the Vendor eligible for 1099 section. Hit OK. Repeat the steps for other vendors that are eligible for 1099.
If the alignment is still off, go to the File menu at the top-left corner and select Printer Setup. Choose the 1099-NEC or 1099s from the list in Form Name. Tap the Align button and adjust alignment as needed. Hit OK twice to save the changes.
