Lets get started with the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report, which was released just last Friday and covered the month of November. This report was a bit of a mixed bag as the headline numbers continued to trend in the right direction. However, it did also show signs of an economy that is slowing. The US labor market added 245,000 new jobs in the month of November, which was quite a drop from the previous months gain of 610,000 new jobs. While this marks the seventh consecutive month of job growth, this does also mark the fifth consecutive month that that job growth has slowed. This slowing job growth would be concerning in and of itself, but it is especially concerning as we head into the winter months amid rising COVID-19 case counts.
