Hi, this is Gary with MacMost.com. Today let me show you how to create links inside a Pages document including the new ability to do that in Page Layout mode. So you can create links from one piece of text to another piece of text inside of a word processing document in Pages. But there is a new feature that will allow you to do the same thing if youre in Page Layout mode. Let me show you how to setup each kind of link. Heres a typical word processing document. Theres lots of text here and Ive got it divided into chapters. I have some page breaks and a Table of Contents that I have inserted that will create page links all on its own to each chapter. But what if I wanted to add some other links. Like, for instance, after the Table of Contents maybe I want to include a list of links to poems in the text here in this book. You can link to webpages or other Pages documents. To link to a webpage or email: Select the text that you wish to link. From the toolbar, click Insert Link or use the keyboard shortcut Command + K.
After you create the target bookmark, you can insert a page number cross-reference or a link to that bookmark in the document that you want to link from. To insert page number cross-references: In the document to link from, place the cursor where you want the cross-reference.
Add links to other pages In the Pages tab, click the pencil icon for the text block where you want to add the link. Select the text that you want to turn into a link. In the Add link box, use the dropdown next to Select an internal page to link to, to specify what page the link should go to. Click OK.
Using Cite While You Write with Pages EndNotes Cite While You Write (CWYW) can also be used with Pages for Mac. There is a plug-in you can to make EndNote work with Pages on a Mac.
Right-click anywhere on the link and, on the shortcut menu, click Edit Hyperlink. In the Edit Hyperlink dialog, select the text in the Text to display box. Type the text you want to use for the link, and then click OK.
Add links to documents on Mac In an app on your Mac, choose Edit Substitutions Smart Links (a checkmark shows its on). Do one of the following: Type a URL, and it becomes a link automatically. Select the text to change to a link, choose Edit Add Link or Format Add Link, then type or paste the URL.
Select the text or picture that you want to display as a hyperlink. Press Ctrl+K. You can also right-click the text or picture and click Link on the shortcut menu.
Select Plug-Ins Links Generate Links Link Table of Contents To Pages to open the Create Links For Table of Contents dialog. Select TOC format that is the most suitable for the TOC layout in the current PDF document. Optionally, specify a page offset.
Add a link Tap an object, text box, or selected text you want to turn into a link, then tap Link. Tap Link To and choose a link type (Webpage, Email, Phone Number, Page, or Bookmark). Specify details for the destination:
