To enter a 1099-MISC for miscellaneous income in TurboTax: Open or continue your return. Select Search and search for 1099-misc. Select Jump to 1099-misc at the top of the search results. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-MISC? Enter the info from your form into the corresponding boxes.

Amending your tax return If you catch the error before the IRS does, then you should file an amended tax return using Form 1040-X, Amended U.S. Individual Tax Return. Be sure to include a copy of the 1099 with the amended return and include a payment for any additional tax that you owe.
Its not too hard to amend a 1099. You just need to fill out a corrected one and include that copy as well as a new form 1096 when you mail them out. Specifically, you should put a checkmark in the corrected box on the top of form 1099. This will let the IRS know that the firm has been corrected.
1099- Account mapping Go to the Vendors tab, then click on Vendor Center. Tap on the vendors name. Go to the Tax Settings section, then mark the box beside the Vendor eligible for 1099 section. Hit OK. Repeat the steps for other vendors that are eligible for 1099.
In the Report Definition window, select Layout. In the Report Layout, move the appropriate fields so that they align with the preprinted 1099 form. On the File menu, select Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains. When you are prompted to save changes, select Save.
QuickBooks Desktop Go to Vendors, then select 1099 Forms, then Print/E-file 1099 Forms. Create a back up. Select Get started for the 1099 form you want to create. Select vendors that need a 1099 form and select Continue. Verify the vendor information is correct. Map the vendor payment accounts.
