okay so first of all i want my hyperlinks to split across multiple lines to get rid of these gaps here so im going to go to insert and symbol and more symbols then go to special characters and select a no width optional break and insert and now youll see that the hyperlink is split across two lines and this hyperlink will still work if i control click on it it will open up the web page and even though you cant see anything visibly different if i go to home and show hidden formatting symbols youll see that there is this new symbol here which looks like a rectangle with a smaller rectangle inside of it and this is a no width optional break its also called a no width space and a zero width space and this symbol works like a space but it doesnt take up any actual space in the document and the reason why the hyperlink still works is if i go to edit hyperlink youll see that there are actually two links here one is the actual address and the other is the text to display so so long as

Symbols act just like other characters. All you have to do is highlight the symbol (like any other text), and click the Link icon on the toolbar.
In the Word document, select the links you want to break: To break a single link, select the link in the document and click Break Link on the ActiveLink ribbon. To break multiple Links at once, highlight the part of the document that contains the links, and click the arrow on the Break Link button.
This happens if you accidentally change the paragraph indentation for the document. Ensure that Indentation, both before and after text, are set to zero and that no special formatting has been set.
By default, browsers will usually display hyperlinks as such: An unvisited link is usually blue and underlined. A visited link is usually purple and underlined. An active link is usually red and underlined.
Press Ctrl+K to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box. The focus is on the Address field. Type the web address of the destination site, and then press Alt+T to move to the Text to display field. Type the link text you want to display in your document.
