Various word processors, including Microsoft Word, Apple Pages, and LibreOffice Writer, can convert DOTX files to other formats. For example, in the Windows and Mac versions of Microsoft Word, select File Save As to convert DOTX files to one of the following formats: . DOCX - Microsoft Word Document.

How to Add Links in Word Select the text or graphic you want to use as a hyperlink. Click the Insert tab. Expand the Links group, if necessary. Click the Link button. Select the type of object you want to link to on the left side of the dialog box: Specify where the link should lead to: Click OK.
Creating a Custom Template Click the File tab and select Save as Template. Type a name for your template into the File Name field. Select Microsoft Word template (*. dotx) from the File Format menu if your template doesnt contain macros, or Microsoft Word Macro-Enabled Template (*. Click Save.
Essentially, what you need to do is open File Explorer, navigate to the file, folder, or library you want to hyperlink, and right-click on it to see its context menu. Then, if youre on Windows 10, select Give access to and click or tap on Specific people.
docx file type is for a standard Word document which contains no macros. The . dotx file type is used for templates from which new documents are generated. It cannot contain macros, either.
Click the Save As type drop-down list, and then select Word Template (*. DOTX) as the file type. Enable the Save Thumbnail option, then click the Save button. If Microsoft Word displays a warning message about saving the file in a new format, click the OK button.
