The process of displaying or using data that resides in another cell, perhaps even in another workbook, is known as data linking. Excel enables you to link the data in your worksheet with data in other sheets, other workbooks and even other applications.
Create a link to another worksheet Select the cell or cells where you want to create the external reference. Type = (equal sign). Switch to the worksheet that contains the cells that you want to link to. Select the cell or cells that you want to link to and press Enter.
On a worksheet, select the cell where you want to create a link. On the Insert tab, select Hyperlink. You can also right-click the cell and then select Hyperlink on the shortcut menu, or you can press Ctrl+K.
Back to the sheet, select the cells which contain the hyperlinks (you may need to press the Shift or Ctrl key when selecting the cells), right click the sheet name View Code press F5, click OK.
Create a drop-down list Select the cells that you want to contain the lists. On the ribbon, click DATA Data Validation. In the dialog, set Allow to List. Click in Source, type the text or numbers (separated by commas, for a comma-delimited list) that you want in your drop-down list, and click OK.
The Pivot Table option can create dynamic Tables in Excel. For this, select the complete data to be included in Dynamic Table and then click on the Pivot Table option under the Insert menu tab or else press short cut key ALT + N + V simultaneously to apply it.
Insert a Hyperlink Select the cell where you want the hyperlink. On the Excel Ribbon, click the Insert tab, and click the Hyperlink command. OR, right-click the cell, and click Link. OR, use the keyboard shortcut - Ctrl + K.
To link to another worksheet or a specific location in another Excel file, you can use the Hyperlink context menu or Ctrl + K shortcut. If you plan to insert many identical or similar links, the fastest way is to use a Hyperlink formula, which makes it easier to create, copy and edit hyperlinks in Excel.
how to create hyperlinks from drop list in excel Choose a column, click DataData validationchoose List in Allowselect the rangeOK to create a drop-list. In cell B2, enter the formula as below: =IF(B1=Sheet 1,HYPERLINK([droplist.xlsx]Sheet1! We can click on the hyperlink on B2 when we change the drop-list.
Click Cell Styles from the Home Tab and select Hyperlink and viola - all the cells change to clickable hyperlinks. May not be pretty, but it works! A slight improvement to this approach is, instead of clicking with the mouse to activate and move down cell-to-cell, you can alternately hit F2 then Enter on the keyboard.
