[Music] whats up everybody welcome to systemcrafters im david wilson and today were going to continue our discussion on the basics of dot files by talking about how to create a dot files folder so if youve never done this before then today were going to give you a brief walk through about how you can create your dot files folder and get it ready for doing some of the other things that we talked about in the basics of dot files video uh like uh posting your configuration to github and lots other things like that so lets just get started with the basics of how to create a dot files folder so first of all first of all what we want to do is create the folder in the right location so that its easier to manage your configuration files in one place then we want to move some configuration files into it from our existing system config and then link them back to the original location so basically what were trying to do is put all of our configuration files that we want to retain into a s
