But there is a new feature that will allow you to do the same thing if youre in Page Layout mode. Let me show you how to setup each kind of link. Heres a typical word processing document. Theres lots of text here and Ive got it divided into chapters. I have some page breaks and a Table of Contents that I have inserted that will create page links all on its own to each chapter. But what if I wanted to add some other links. Like, for instance, after the Table of Contents maybe I want to include a list of links to poems in the text here in this book. Adding a link in Pages on Mac Keep in mind that you can only link to other pages in your document if you're using a Page Layout document. And Page Layout documents cannot link to bookmarks as Word-Processing documents can. (To convert, click Documents from the top right and use the Documents Body check box.
Inserting ASCII characters To insert an ASCII character, press and hold down ALT while typing the character code. For example, to insert the degree (º) symbol, press and hold down ALT while typing 0176 on the numeric keypad. You must use the numeric keypad to type the numbers, and not the keyboard.
Enter special characters and symbols Click in the text where you want to place the character, then choose Edit > Emoji & Symbols (or press Control-Command-Space bar). The Character Viewer appears where you clicked. You can drag it to the desktop if you want to keep it open as you work.
Use the accent menu In an app on your Mac, press and hold a letter key on the keyboard—for example, a—to display the accent menu. The menu isn't shown if a key doesn't have any possible accent marks. Select a character in the menu—for example, á.
Add links to documents on Mac Type a URL, and it becomes a link automatically. Select the text to change to a link, choose Edit > Add Link or Format > Add Link, then type or paste the URL.
So while there isn't a simple switch to show the formatting symbols, there is still a way. When you select text in a Pages document, the formatting symbols display automatically. Tap the text twice to display the shortcut menu. You can then use Select for a single word and drag through the rest.
With your document open in Pages on Mac, click View > Show Invisibles from the menu bar. You should immediately see the formatting symbols in your current document.
Hold the "Alt" key and type the proper ASCII code on the numeric keypad. When you release the "Alt" key, you should see your desired symbol on the screen.
To insert special characters on an Apple computer while editing a page in Confluence: Hold CTRL+CMD and press the space bar to bring up the Character Viewer. Select a category from the options on the right. Double click on a symbol to add it to your page.
Press a modifier key, or a combination of modifier keys, to see special characters or symbols you can type. For example, press and hold the Option key or the Option and Shift keys. An orange outline appears around dead keys, modifier keys that can be pressed with another key to enter a letter with a diacritical mark.
