Automatically Referencing Info Entered in a Table Select the word in cell A1. Press Shift+Ctrl+F5. Enter a name for your bookmark, such as FirstWord (note that there are no spaces in the name). Click on Add. Move to cell E6 or whatever cell you want to have the word appear. Insert a field by pressing Ctrl+F9.
Create a link to another worksheet Select the cell or cells where you want to create the external reference. Type = (equal sign). Switch to the worksheet that contains the cells that you want to link to. Select the cell or cells that you want to link to and press Enter.
Connect text boxes Click Home Draw Text Box, and drag the cross shaped cursor to draw a box where you want text. Click in the text box you want as the first text box in the story. On the Text Box Tools Format tab, in the Linking group, click Create Link. Click in the text box you want as the next in the story.
On the Insert tab, click Cross-reference. In the Reference type box, click the drop-down list to pick what you want to link to. The list of whats available depends on the type of item (heading, page number, etc.) youre linking to.
If you need to find and check hyperlinks in a Word document, heres how to do it: Press Alt + F9 to display the link in all your hyperlinks. Press Ctrl + F to open the search dialog box.
Link or embed an Excel worksheet in Word Go to Insert Text Object. Go to Create from file Browse, and locate the file you want to insert in the Word document. Choose one of the following: To add the file as a linked object, select Link to file, and then select OK.
Select the cells that you want to merge. Under Table Tools, on the Layout tab, in the Merge group, click Merge Cells.
