Format the text in your table of contents Go to References Table of Contents Custom Table of Contents. Select Modify. In the Styles list, click the level that you want to change and then click Modify. In the Modify Style pane, make your changes. Select OK to save changes.
Add the link Select the text or object you want to use as a hyperlink. Under Link to, click Place in This Document. In the list, select the heading or bookmark that you want to link to.
Finding Words Edit Links to Files command in the Ribbon Save the Word document. Click the File tab in the Ribbon and then click Info. In the bottom right corner or the window, under Related Documents, click Edit Links to Files. This command will appear only if external links exist and you have saved the file.
To remove links from Microsoft Word 2010, 2013, or 2016 documents: Click the File tab, and then Info Edit links to files. This menu entry is available only if your document contains linked data. Select a link and click Break link.
If you need to find and check hyperlinks in a Word document, heres how to do it: Press Alt + F9 to display the link in all your hyperlinks. Press Ctrl + F to open the search dialog box. Type HYPERLINK in the search box.
Click where you want to insert the table of contents usually near the beginning of a document. Click References Table of Contents and then choose an Automatic Table of Contents style from the list.
Right-click and then click Hyperlink Hyperlink button. Under Link to, click Place in This Document. In the list, select the heading or bookmark that you want to link to.
Click File Options Display, and then under Always show these formatting marks on the screen, select the Hidden text check box. Click File Options Advanced, and then under Show document content, select the Show drawings and text boxes on screen check box.
If you want to click links without having to press Ctrl, try this: In Word, click File Options Advanced. In Outlook, click File Options Mail Editor Options Advanced. Under Editing Options, clear the Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink check box.
Now place the cursor at the position you want to insert the table of linkable contents, click References Table of Contents Custom Table of Contents. 3. In the Table of Contents dialog, keep Show page numbers, Right align page numbers and Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers options checked, click Options.
