Well, progress is being made on the line to build the Lynnwood light rail extension. Yet two years after its groundbreaking, the Lynnwood link is 50% done halfway there. Sound Transit says the projects 188 columns are completed. The extension will include stations in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Shoreline Lynnwood Light Rail service is scheduled to start in 2024. Were told its going to take 27 minutes to ride from the Lynnwood Transit Center to downtown Seattle and one hour to Seatac Airport on the east side. Trains are rolling. In Bellevue these are some new pictures of crews testing the trains in the downtown area. Right now, construction crews are making sure the trains clear the tracks under overpasses and at station platforms as well. Most of that work is happening overnight. The East Link extension will travel 14 miles from downtown Seattle to Redmond. Thats expected to open in 2023. Eventually, there will be 10 stations, including stops on Mercer Island, downtown Bellevue
