How to fill out a timesheet (step-by-step guide) Step 1: Enter the employees name. Step 2: Add the date or date range. Step 3: Fill in the project and task details. Step 4: Add working hours for each day of the week. Step 5: Calculate the total hours. Step 6: Add notes if required. Step 7: Get approval.
View time Go to Get paid pay then select Time (Take me there), or go to Time (Take me there). Select Time entries. From the dropdown, select Customer, Employee, or Contractor. A company or organizations human resources department uses timesheets to track the time an employee spent working during a given time period. A weekly timesheet, for example, would record their working hours for a particular week.
Note: Single Time Activity and Weekly Timesheets are only available to QuickBooks Online Plus or QuickBooks Online Essentials users.
There are different methods that have been used to record timesheets, such as paper, spreadsheet software, and online time-tracking software. Paper-based timesheets have now given way to the digital formats.
Enter a weekly timesheet in QuickBooks Online Select + New. Under Employees, select Weekly Timesheet. From the small arrow ▼ icons, select the name of the employee or supplier and the week you want to record. Complete the rest of the fields. Select Save.
Weekly timesheets are non-posting transactions. This means they will not show on reports like Profit and Loss until the contents of the timesheets have been added to a sale for an expense type transaction.
Go to Time Entries Timesheets. Do one of the following: At the right, select the pencil icon ( ) to open Timesheet Editor, make the changes, and select Save. Select the trash icon ( ) OK.
