Group A 160. A-List/A-List Preferred, active-duty military and family boarding (those with children age six and under). Group B 160. Group C 160.
Southwest Airlines passengers are assigned specific boarding positions, consisting of a letter and then a number: Youll either be in group A, B, or C, with A being allowed to board first, B being allowed to board second, and C being allowed to board last.
Sequence: This is the order in which you checked in to your flight, e.g. if your sequence number is 066 youre the 66th person to check in.
If you have a B group boarding position, the chances are good that youll still be able to get a window or aisle seat or find 2 seats together if youre traveling with a companion. Hot Tip: If you are in the B group (or even one of the first numbers in the C group), head to the back of the plane.
The next group, Group A, will be passengers in Even More Space premium economy seats. Group B boarding will be for those with window seats in the back half of the plane. Group C is for passengers in middle seats in the back and front window seats.
The C boarding group is the last (and worst) boarding group to be in when flying Southwest. It almost guarantees you will get a stuck in a middle seat and you might have trouble finding a spot for your bag in the overhead bin.
Is B1 good on Southwest? On Southwest it is an open seating policy meaning you can sit in any open seat. With B1 you should have no problem getting a window or aisle at mid cabin or towards the back of the plane.
Youll probably get all boarding passes at once when you check in for your first flight, whether you check in online, on your smartphone, or at the airport. For some international itineraries though, the airline will direct you to get your second boarding pass on your layover.
