As noted above, DCI 4K is 4096 2160, while 4K UHD is 3840 2160, producing a slight difference in aspect ratio rather than a docHub difference in resolution. Traditional displays, such as LCD or OLED, are 3840 pixels across the screen, with each pixel being 1/3840th of the screen width.
DIGITAL CINEMA 4K (4096x2160) RESOLUTION 4K (4096x2160) resolution displays over four times the resolution of standard 1920x1080 FHD, and over half a million more pixels than UHD resolution (3840x2160). The most intricate details are displayed perfectly for creative professionals.
The title of the resolution must appropriately reflect the intent. Resolutions begin with Whereas statements, which provides the basic facts and reasons for the resolution, and conclude with Resolved statements which, identifies the specific proposal for the requestors course of action.
In the case of a monitor with an industry-standard Full HD 1080p resolution, this display has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. This means that the screen will have a width of 1,920 pixels while the height of the screen will be 1,080 pixels. This results in a grand total of 2,073,600 pixels on-screen.
By comparison, 4K resolution is 2,160 pixels tall and 3,840 pixels wide (the term 4K is derived from the width there is also a professional 4K standard that is 4,096 pixels wide). Combined, this equals nearly 8.3 million individual pixels in total, or four times as many pixels as Full HD.
For the display market, UHD means 3840x2160 (exactly four times HD), and 4K is often used interchangeably to refer to that same resolution. For the digital cinema market, however, 4K means 4096x2160, or 256 pixels wider than UHD.
4096 x 2304 is a real 4K in the sense of having 4096 pixels horizontally, and the 2304 vertical count comes from this being a 16:9 aspect ratio with square pixels.
Here is an example of a conclusion versus a resolution: Resolution: The team happily celebrated their victory after a challenging face-off with their rival. Here, the resolution marks the end of a story.
