Dropdowns do have their advantages. First, they conserve screen space. Because they are a standard widget (even if an unpleasant one), users know how to deal with them. And, when used in forms and for attribute selection, dropdown boxes prevent users from entering erroneous data, since they only show legal choices.
Avoid dropdowns for more than 10 options or less than 5 There are three main issues with dropdowns that have such a large number of options: no overview seeing more than 20 uncategorized options can be confusing and intimidating to users, making it difficult for them to find the input they need.
Compared to using standalone checkboxes or radio buttons, its better to use a listbox or dropdown list when there are 5 or more items from which users can choose.
The use case for drop-down menus They also help conserve screen space. Offering drop-down menus can help users avoid scrolling and can quickly get them access to your sites content. For large websites, drop-down menus can save users time by allowing them to jump down a level or two to get to the content they seek.
Select versus Dropdown It works best in forms when users choose an option from the select list and submit data. A dropdown presents a list of options that users can select one or several options from that list. Dropdown options are used for taking an action, filtering, or sorting existing content.
In General, Avoid Drop-Downs When There Are More Than 10 or Fewer Than 5 Options. Drop-downs quickly become difficult for users when they are presented with an overwhelming number of options to choose from. Take, for instance, a commonly included input in checkout forms, the Country Selection drop-down.

For large websites, drop-down menus can save users time by allowing them to jump down a level or two to get to the content they seek.
A drop-down list in excel is a feature that allows users to choose from a list of options. It is a handy feature that allows users to enter the data faster and accurately. Its an excellent way to give the user the pre-defined list.
The length of the drop-down box is not big enough to display the entire text. The simple solution is to widen the column that the drop-down box is in. You can adjust the column manually by dragging the border of the column header.
