The Microsoft Excel DOLLAR function converts a number to text, using a currency format. The format used is $#,##0.00);($#,##0.00). The DOLLAR function is a built-in function in Excel that is categorized as a String/Text Function. It can be used as a worksheet function (WS) in Excel.
Press Ctrl + 1 to open the Format Cells dialog box, select Accounting in the Category list box, and click OK. In the Home tab, in the Number group, select Accounting from the Number Format drop-down list. The dollar sign is aligned to the left of the currency values.
