in Excel theres no built-in way to quickly add a bullet to a cell like you could do in a Word document but you can use the keyboard to insert one so in this cell if I press the Alt key and then on the number keypad press 0 1 4 9 then Ill see a little bullet inserted in there I can drag it down to the cells below so thats a quick way to add a bullet in a cell if youre using a text box though here on another sheet I have a text box where Ive typed some text and this is great if youre trying to add some explanations to a worksheet or add an introductory sheet instead of typing the cells you can put the text in a text box I would like to add bullets to these points so Ive just selected part of each row just by clicking and dragging down when I right-click the shortcut menu here in Excel 2010 has bullets on it currently there are no bullets but I can point to any of these and see a preview of that bullet type so I can add a little square bullet and then once the bullets are there if

How to write powerful bullet points Think of a bullet point as a mini headline. Highlight elements key to understanding the content of your article. Keep it simple. Keep bullets thematically related. Make your bullet points symmetrical . . . just like the ones here. Work in keywords. Dont overdo it.

What exactly is a bullet list? The simple definition is that a bullet list is a series of items with a heading broken up by dotted points. These lists can be used for anything you need them to, whether its as informal as an agenda or as formal as a business plan at your workplace.
There are three types of lists that you can create in Microsoft Word: bulleted, numbered and multilevel. Items in a bulleted list are preceded by a bullet ● or other symbol.
If a complete sentence introduces the bulleted list, each item in the list should end with a full stop, not a colon, and each point should begin with a capital letter.
Icons. Icons are an effective replacement for bullet points. Icons use the same methods that images do, in that there is an element that the audience can tag the message to. There are several stock sites where icons can be found.
When do you use bullet points? In writing, bullet points are typically only used in lists. In general, formal writing reserves bulleted lists for certain situations, such as the quick presentation of important information or to efficiently summarize a writers major points.
Bullets are used in place of numbers when the order of the items in the list is not important. There are many forms of bullets to choose from. The most common forms are the heavy black dot ( ● ) and the open circle ( ○ ). Other common bullet choices include squares (filled and open), diamonds, dashes and checkmarks.
A bullet point is a symbol that is used in writing to introduce an item in a list. A commonly used symbol to represent a bullet point is a centered dot ( ), but many different symbols and characters can be used in bullet point lists. Sometimes, bulleted lists even use numbers and/or letters.
