An Oracle JOIN is performed whenever two or more tables are joined in a SQL statement. There are 4 different types of Oracle joins: Oracle INNER JOIN (or sometimes called simple join) Oracle LEFT OUTER JOIN (or sometimes called LEFT JOIN)
The LEFT JOIN statement is similar to the JOIN statement. The main difference is that a LEFT JOIN statement includes all rows of the entity or table referenced on the left side of the statement.
JOIN displays only the matching records from both tables. LEFT JOIN displays all the records from the left table and matching records from the right table. RIGHT JOIN displays all the records from the right table and matching records from the left table. FULL JOIN displays all the records from both tables.
Join Conditions There may be at least one join condition either in the FROM clause or in the WHERE clause for joining two tables. It compares two columns from different tables and combines pair of rows, each containing one row from each table, for which join condition is true.
The main difference between these joins is the inclusion of non-matched rows. The LEFT JOIN includes all records from the left side and matched rows from the right table, whereas RIGHT JOIN returns all rows from the right side and unmatched rows from the left table.
A JOIN clause is used to combine rows from two or more tables, based on a related column between them. Notice that the CustomerID column in the Orders table refers to the CustomerID in the Customers table. The relationship between the two tables above is the CustomerID column.
Left outer join (⟕) The left outer join is written as R ⟕ S where R and S are relations. The result of the left outer join is the set of all combinations of tuples in R and S that are equal on their common attribute names, in addition (loosely speaking) to tuples in R that have no matching tuples in S.
A join is a query that combines rows from two or more tables, views, or materialized views. Oracle Database performs a join whenever multiple tables appear in the FROM clause of the query. The select list of the query can select any columns from any of these tables.
Different Types of SQL JOINs LEFT (OUTER) JOIN : Returns all records from the left table, and the matched records from the right table. RIGHT (OUTER) JOIN : Returns all records from the right table, and the matched records from the left table.
Oracle INNER JOIN First, specify the main table in the FROM clause, T1 in this case. Second, specify the joined table in the INNER JOIN clause followed by a joinpredicate . The joined table is T2 in the above statement. Third, a join predicate specifies the condition for joining tables.
