Use dialogue tags to show that two or more characters are talking. In a novel or short story, dialogue tags are the he/she/they said of a line of dialogue that identify who is speaking.

Final Draft Type the character names and dialogues in normally; Place your cursor in the first character name; Choose Format Dual Dialogue. (or on Mac press Command + D on the keyboard); (or on Windows press Control + Alt + D on the keyboard); The two pieces of dialogue will be aligned side by side.
When two characters are talking at the same time, it is referred to as dual dialogue, and the two speakers text blocks go side-by-side. Most screenwriting programs have an option for this.
You cant edit your dialogue in dual dialogue form. To edit it you need to go back to the regular format. To do that either just double click on the dual dialogue, or with the dual dialogue selected, go to Format Dual Dialogue and Final Draft reverts it to regular dialogue formatting.
All you need is an internet connection. Open Final Draft and click the Collaboration button. Enter your name and select the script youd like to share with your collaborators. Youll be given a session ID. Call, email, or text this ID to your collaborators to invite them to the session.
To create dual dialogue, the dialogue text must follow immediately after one another. Highlight first dialogue and press CTRL+SHIFT+L which will move the dialogue to the left side. Highlight dialogue that immediately follows the first one and press CTRL+SHIFT+R which will move the dialogue to the right side.
Open Final Draft; Go to File Open; Navigate to where the file was saved; Change Files of Type to Text Documents [Windows only]; Double-click the text file to open it; When prompted, import it as a Script (or Screenplay).
