With your cursor on that new page, format the page numbers to restart at 1 and unlink the headers and footers from previous.
To merge multiple Word documents, navigate to Insert. Under the Text section, click on the dropdown from Object and select Text from File. Now, navigate to the file location and by holding the Ctrl key on your keyboard, select multiple documents. Click on Insert.

You can link two or more text boxes so that text can flow from one text box to the next. For example, if youre creating a newsletter you could link text boxes and use them to create irregular columns of text, or continue a sidebar onto another page.
Example Select the Object tool ( ) from the tool bar. Click on each of the text boxes you want joined. Once all are selected, choose Text-Text Box-Merge Vertically to join the separate boxes into one. Once joined, text will flow as a single column and the results should look better.
Create a new Word document you will place the merged documents, and then click Insert Object Text from File. See screenshot: 2. In the opening Insert File dialog box, please (1) open the folder containing documents you will merge; (2) select the documents you will merge; and then (3) click the Insert button.
To merge text, select one text box, hold down Shift then select the text boxes you want to merge.
