Open Pages on your Mac, and then create a new document. Click the Format icon at the top of the window, as shown below. In the sidebar, in the Spacing section, change the value in the the Lines field to 2, as shown below. (You could also specify another option, such as 1.5 lines.)
Use Keyboard Shortcuts Highlight your text. Use Ctrl+1 (⌘ Command+1 for Mac) to single space. Use Ctrl+2 (⌘ Command+2 for Mac) to double space. Use Ctrl+5 (⌘ Command+2 for Mac) for 1.5 spacing.
Click on Text at the top. Then look for the Advanced Options button in that sidebar. It looks like a little gear and is to the right of the BIUS (bold italics underline strikethrough) buttons. Click on that and then the setting you are looking for is character spacing.
Go to Home Line and Paragraph Spacing. Choose the number of line spaces you want or select Line Spacing Options, and then select the options you want under Spacing.
To fix spacing between words, go to Find and Replace. Enter a space in both fields, then go to More Format Font and choose a font size. To adjust spacing between characters, go to Home, select Expand (the down-arrow) next to Font, and select the Advanced tab.
There are times when it helps to know how many words per page youre writing. While a general guideline is one page is 500 words (single spaced) or 250 words (double spaced), this is a ballpark figure.
Pages Does Have a Leading Points Option To adjust spacing using the Text Inspector: Select the text you want to change. Click Inspector in the toolbar, click the Text Inspector button, and then click Text. Move the Line slider left to decrease spacing or right to increase it.
In the Format sidebar, click the Style button near the top. If the text is in a text box, table or shape, first click the Text tab at the top of the sidebar, then click the Style button. , then use the arrows to change the Character Spacing value.
Use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + 1 to single space, Ctrl + 2 to double space, or Ctrl + 5 to set the spacing to 1.5 line spacing on any line, paragraph, or all highlighted text. When pressing Enter , it starts a new paragraph with extra space between the two paragraphs.
To change the default indent space, click over to the Layout tab of Format Inspector. Near the bottom the options for First, Left, and Right will be displayed. Either click into the box or use the up and down arrows to increase and decrease the spacing.
