SQL JOIN is a clause that is used to combine multiple tables and retrieve data based on a common field in relational databases. Database professionals use normalizations for ensuring and improving data integrity. In the various normalization forms, data is distributed into multiple logical tables.
The dollar signs are used for literal string quoting. Function bodies are handed to the database as plain text strings.
The plus sign is Oracle syntax for an outer join. There isn't a minus operator for joins. An outer join means return all rows from one table. Also return the rows from the outer joined where there's a match on the join key. If there's no matching row, return null.
Basically, we have only three types of joins: Inner join, Outer join, and Cross join. We use any of these three JOINS to join a table to itself.
If the WHERE clause contains a condition that compares a column from table B with a constant, then the (+) operator must be applied to the column so that Oracle returns the rows from table A for which it has generated nulls for this column. Otherwise Oracle returns only the results of a simple join.
:= is the assignment operator in PL/SQL (Oracle's procedural extension to SQL). You use this to assign values to variables. If you just use = then this is checking for equality rather than assigning a value.
Queries that contain the (+) operator are subject to the following rules: You can only use the (+) operator in the WHERE clause, and only in reference to columns from tables or views. You can't apply the (+) operator to expressions. However, an expression can contain columns that use the (+) operator.
"/" executes the sql command in the current buffer. It similar to GO of SQL Server.
There is no difference.
MySQL - How to include special characters in a query \0 - An ASCII NUL (0x00) character. \' - A single quote ( ' ) character. \" - A double quote ( " ) character. \b - A backspace character. \n - A newline (linefeed) character. \r - A carriage return character. \t - A tab character. \Z - ASCII 26 (Control-Z).
