everybody Justin Sealy here and in this tutorial Im going to be showing you another Photoshop tip on how to combine shape layers inside a Photoshop thats right from time to time we find ourselves drawing shapes and we might want to combine them together into one single shape or even define them as their own custom shape later on so in this tutorial Im going to show you exactly how to do that using Photoshop alright so before we can get started with actually combining some shapes I actually have to draw some shapes out on the canvas here so Im going to start off pretty simple and Im just going to grab a circle Im going to grab this circle shape right here and Im just going to hold down my shift key and click and drag that out like so so that puts that out on the canvas and then Im going to draw another shape on top of it and so Ill just create a new layer to put the shape in and Ill come up here and grab another shape and in this case Im just going to grab something a little

On a Windows PC, press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E. On a Mac, press Shift+Command+Option+E. Basically, its all three modifier keys, plus the letter E. Photoshop adds a new layer and merges a copy of the existing layers onto it.
Merge shapes Select the shapes you want to merge: press and hold the Shift key while you select each shape in turn. On the Shape Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, select Merge Shapes, and then pick the option you want. Select the Merge option you want.
Method 1: Merge Shapes Step 1: Select the layers where the shapes you want to combine are located on the Layers panel. Step 2: Right-click and select Merge Shapes or you can use the keyboard shortcuts Command + E (for Windows, Ctrl + E) to quickly combine the shapes.
If youre using Photoshop CS6 or higher, when you select two vector layers, in Layer menu, youll see Merge Shapes option which will merge them without rasterizing.
Just switch to the Path Selection tool (Shift-A until it comes up), then go up to the Options Bar and click on the Combine button. Now when you move one path, all the combined paths move right along with it.
To merge all the layers in your Photoshop document, select all the layers and right-click (Control+click for Mac) on the layers panel and select Merge Layers or, without needing to select them, use the shortcut Shift+Ctrl+E (Shift+Cmd+E for Mac).
Combine shapes with the Shape Builder tool Select the shapes you want to combine. Select the Shape Builder tool in the Toolbar. The Shape Builder tool lets you combine or remove shapes you select. Drag across shapes to combine them.
If you hold Alt (Windows) or Option (macOS) while selecting Merge Visible in the Layer menu (or in the Layers panel flyout menu), you will merge the visible layers onto a new layer; leaving the original layers intact.
