You can group shapes in draw.io by just selecting all of them, then hit Ctrl+G (which ist Cmd+G on a Mac). You will now be able to select all of the shapes as one single entity but still modify every shape individually if needed (change color etc.).
Combining the shapes 1 Using the Selection tool ( ), click on the triangle shape if it is not selected, then Shift+click on the ellipse. 2 Select the Shape Builder tool ( ) in the Tools panel. Click and drag from one shape to another. The triangle and ellipse are combined into one shape.
There are a few way to change the shape geometry in draw.io. The most common one is via the Arrange tab of the Format panel. But we have a way to make it even quicker and easier. Hit Ctrl+Shift+M (Cmd+Shift+M on a Mac) to modify your shape without leaving the drawing canvas.
Merging Shapes using the Union Command Once the shapes are selected, Select the Drawing Tools Format Tab, Go to the Insert Shapes group, Select Merge Shapes, and Select Union.
Connecting shapes in draw.io is easy. Just hover over the starting shape, and youll see that blue arrows and crosses appear. Click and drag a connection from one of the crosses or arrows to the crosses or the border of the other shape.
Merge shapes Select the shapes you want to merge: press and hold the Shift key while you select each shape in turn. On the Shape Format tab, in the Insert Shapes group, select Merge Shapes, and then pick the option you want. Select the Merge option you want.
