Baptism invitations need to include the following items: location, date, time, the parents and babys names, a quick description of the event, an RSVP line or separate card, and directions to the church. Usually for baptisms, you will not need more than a dozen invitations.
Here are a few things you should include on your baptism invitation: Full name of the child being baptized. Names of the parents, godparents, and grandparents of the child. Names of the hosts of the baptism if its not the parents. Date and time of the baptism. The location of the baptism.
Keep invites to the ceremony to close friends and family. They might include the childs grandparents, aunts, uncles, first cousins, a few friends and of course their selected godparents. If youre hiring a venue for a celebration after the ceremony, you have the option to open up the guest list.
You should send invitations at least three to four weeks before the baptism. For guests who need to travel from out of town or if the baptism is on a holiday like Easter you should give more notice to ensure theres enough time for travel planning. Include an RSVP card so you can keep track of who is attending.
Anywhere from four to ten people is appropriate, though this number is flexible. Typically, guests will include: Godparents: Part of the essential cast of people in your newborns life, the godparents should be invited to the baptism and baptism party.
Schedule the date at least four weeks in advance. Suggest several different dates to help ensure you get the church and clergy member you want for the baptism. Coordinate dates with loved ones if you absolutely want them to attend, especially godparents or sponsors.
