We hope we get lucky enough tonight to see the Northern Lights. fingers crossed Join us as we embark on a 12-hour journey across Alaska from Fairbanks to Anchorage. We'll show you exactly what it's like to experience this famous train ride from the food, train, a famous passenger we meet and of course the pretty incredible views that make this adventure truly unforgettable! We do want to thank incogni for sponsoring this video. It's 4 30 a.m in North Pole Alaska where we're starting this journey. It's way too early. We only slept two hours. My brains not working. I want to sleeeeeeeep. Before getting to the train station, we had to pack up our bags, clean up the rental cabin, load everything into the car and then we hear this... DO YOU HAVE MY PHONE...

A snapshot is of an EBS volume where you are able to save state and reboot with the same data at a certain point in time. An AMI is similar, but it's for the EC2 instances themselves. You cannot take a snapshot of a non-ebs backed instance, but you can create an AMI (system image) of one.
To create an AMI from a snapshot using the console Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ . In the navigation pane, choose Snapshots. Select the snapshot from which to create the AMI, and then choose Actions, Create image from snapshot. For Image name, enter a descriptive name for the image.
Description. Creates an Amazon EBS-backed AMI from an Amazon EBS-backed instance that is either running or stopped. By default, when Amazon EC2 creates the new AMI, it reboots the instance so that it can take snapshots of the attached volumes while data is at rest, in order to ensure a consistent state.
With Amazon EC2 instance store-backed AMIs, each time you customize an AMI and create a new one, all of the parts are stored in Amazon S3 for each AMI.
To create a custom AMI, launch an Elastic Beanstalk platform AMI in Amazon EC2, customize the software and configuration to your needs, and then stop the instance and save an AMI from it.
An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is a supported and maintained image provided by AWS that provides the information required to launch an instance. You must specify an AMI when you launch an instance. You can launch multiple instances from a single AMI when you require multiple instances with the same configuration.
your ISO onto VMware vSphere then export as VMDK. Upload your VMDK to an S3 bucket on the same AWS account. and configure AWS command line interface (CLI) Setup a VM Import Service Role.
Launching the instance from the snapshot is an easy process. You can create a snapshots everyday as the part of your backup process. It is possible that one day you might want to restore your instance from the snapshot incase of a corrupted Operating System or you want to revert back from an unwanted change.
You can restore a volume attached to an existing EC2 instance by creating a volume from its snapshot and attaching it to your instance. You can use the console, the AWS CLI, or the API operations to create a volume from an existing snapshot. You can then mount the volume to the instance by using the operating system.
An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is a master image for the creation of virtual servers -- known as EC2 instances -- in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. The machine images are like templates that are configured with an operating system and other software that determine the user's operating environment.
