Hello, my name is Shawn Jordison. In this video we are going to learn how to apply headings in a Google document. In this example, I have a Google doc ready to go with some sample text. Theres a tiny button at the top left corner of the page that says Show document outline. Im going to press this one time. What this does is its going to show the headings that we add to our document, they will appear here on the left hand side. So lets begin applying some styles or headings to our documents. If I select the text that I want to change to a heading, I can use the drop down menu under the styles tab to choose the appropriate style. For this text, applying headings in a Google document, Im going to select the title style. For volcano practice, Im going to use the drop down menu to choose heading one. And then were going to go into some of these heading styles. So I have a whole bunch of texts here, and were going to apply some headings, Im going to take formation and this will be a

Google Docs will automatically add headings to the outline, but you can also add them manually. Open a document in Google Docs. Select text for an outline heading. At the top, click Normal text. Click a heading style. The heading will be added to the outline.
