Click or tap the page at the beginning of a section. Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section.
Use headers and footers to add a title, date, or page numbers to every page in a document.Try it! Select Insert Header or Footer. Select one of the built in designs. Type the text you want in the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer when youre done.
Add page numbers and text to headers and footers in Pages on Mac, iPhone, or iPad Click Document in the toolbar. To turn on headers or footers, select the Header or Footer checkboxes. Move the pointer over the top or bottom of the page until you see the three header or footer fields, then click one.
Highlight the text, and click the Insert/edit link button. Paste in the link to the page you wish to add in the URL field of the box that pops up, or use the finder button to find the link you need in the directory. Click Ok when you are finished.
Hover the mouse over the table border until the cursor becomes a plus sign, click the right mouse button and select Format Table from the contextual menu. In the Layout tab, select Repeat header on every page or Repeat footer on every page in the Vertical or Horizontal panes.
Select Layout Breaks Next Page. Double-click the header or footer on the first page of the new section. Click Link to Previous to turn it off and unlink the header or footer from the previous section. Note: Headers and footers are linked separately.
If youre not in the Header and Footer view, select the Insert tab, click Footer and click Edit Footer. If Same as Previous or Link to Previous is visible just above the footer, remove it by clicking Link to Previous in the Design tabs Navigation section.
If you open the document and press Ctrl-A, then Alt-P-S-P to open the Page Layout dialogue and choose the Layout tab and either of the Different odd and even or Different first page boxes is checked or shaded, thats probably part of your issue.
