hey everyone in this video we will talk about joining two fact tables using a single dimension tables for slicing and dicing and you can use the same formula for slicing and dicing across multiple dimensions as long as you have got common dimensions between two fact tables so in this diagram ive got two fact tables the internet sales amount and the fact inventory sorry fact product inventory and now ill just show you in the in the reporting tab ive already created a mini table where ive got the color from so the color comes from the fact internet sales table and the sales amount comes from the fact internet sales table however you can see the unit balance is coming from the fact product inventory so when the data is getting filtered from fact internet sales table the filters dont flow into units balance and that is because there is no common table joining uh the two tables or there is no relationship between the two tables so how you can join them is using a common dimension table

About Fact Tables and Dimension Tables.Create Fact Tables Individually Drag the source table or view from the Database menu in the left pane to the Fact Tables area of the semantic model. From the Database menu in the left pane, right-click the table or view, then click Add to Model, then Add as Fact Table.

Fact tables have more records and fewer attributes, while dimension tables have more attributes and fewer records. While the dimension table expands horizontally, the fact table expands vertically. While the dimension table has a primary key, the table has a concatenated key.

To create a Fact table, right click the Fact Tables folder (or one of its sub folders) and select Create New. There are two ways to create a Fact Table. By far the quickest way is to import the Meta Data from a Source System, and then edit as required.
