And the answer is Yes if All joins in the query are not INNER JOINS. The order doesnt matter for INNER joins but the order matters for (LEFT, RIGHT or FULL) OUTER joins. Outer joins are not commutative.
There really is no difference between a LEFT JOIN and a LEFT OUTER JOIN. Both versions of the syntax will produce the exact same result in PL/SQL. Some people do recommend including outer in a LEFT JOIN clause so its clear that youre creating an outer join, but thats entirely optional.
A JOIN operation combines rows from two tables (or other table-like sources, such as views or table functions) to create a new combined row that can be used in the query.
Definitions: Join and Inner Join A join allows you to select columns and rows from two or more tables and views. You can join as many as 128 tables and views per query block. An inner join projects data from two or more tables or views that meet specific join conditions.
A left anti join : This join returns rows in the left table that have no matching rows in the right table. A right anti join : This join returns rows in the right table that have no matching rows in the left table.
A LEFT EXCLUDING JOIN returns all of the records in TableA that dont match any record in TableB. A RIGHT EXCLUDING JOIN returns all of the records in TableB that dont match any records in TableA.
Exclusion join is a product, merge, or hash join where only the rows that do not satisfy (are NOT IN) any condition specified in the request are joined. In other words, exclusion join finds rows in the first table that do not have a matching row in the second table. Exclusion join is an implicit form of the outer join.
A left semi join is the same as filtering the left table for only rows with keys present in the right table. The left anti join also only returns data from the left table, but instead only returns records that are not present in the right table.
