so, you can load the Category table, and create a join on the Product Name fields. Select the Categories worksheet, and then then select Data Get Transform data From Table or Range. Select Close Load the table to return to the worksheet, and then rename the Sheet tab to PQ Categories.
Open the workbooks you want to compare. Go to the View tab, Window group, and click the View Side by Side button. Thats it!
Open the original Shared Workbook into which you want to merge changes. Click the Tools menu and then select Merge Workbooks. If prompted, save the workbook. In the file navigation dialog box, click the copy of the workbook that contains the changes you want to merge, then click OK.
On the Data tab, under Tools, click Consolidate. In the Function box, click the function that you want Excel to use to consolidate the data. In each source sheet, select your data, and then click Add. The file path is entered in All references.
Both of these functions let you join (concatenate) text in different cells together. TEXTJOIN lets you join values with a delimiter of your choice, and has an option to ignore empty values. CONCAT simply mashes all values together without options.
The ampersand () calculation operator lets you join text items without having to use a function. For example, =A1 B1 returns the same value as =CONCATENATE(A1,B1).
Method 3. Use CONCATENATE or CONCAT function to combine two or multiple cells Copy the cell with the CONCATENATE formula (D2). Paste the copied value in the top-left cell of the range you want to merge (A2). Select the cells that you want to join (A2 and B2) and click Merge and Center.
You can combine data from multiple cells into a single cell using the Ampersand symbol () or the CONCAT function.
The Excel Joinand SplitExcel functions are very useful function. The split function is used to take a delimited string and parse the values into an array. The join function is used to extract the values out of the array and concatenate them back into a delimited string.
The TEXTJOIN function combines the text from multiple ranges and/or strings, and includes a delimiter you specify between each text value that will be combined.
