hello this is Ryan Voorhees instructor with the construction technology department at Ivy Tech Community College and today Im going to demonstrate the proper methods for taping and finishing a standard tapered drywall joint for an example were going to use a standard tapered drywall joint Im going to go through some of the tools that well use to complete this process the first tool that we plan on using is a 6-inch taping knife and this this knife is used to apply mud and remove that mud from the tape in the first step the second knife were going to use is an 8 inch finishing knife all of these knives are very stiff and sharp to allow for a very clean edge and the final knife that well use is a 12 inch finishing knife again a very stiff strong sharp knife youll notice Im holding a drywall pan this is to hold my mud as Im working through the process it has sharp edges for cleaning off my knife in addition as far as tools are concerned when were done and were ready to sand we

Click Home tab Layers panel Layer Properties. In the Layer Properties Manager, select the layers you want to merge into another layer and right-click Merge Selected Layers To.
Add a layout from an external drawing Right-click a layout tab in the destination drawing. Select From template. Choose the file type (DWG, DWT, or DXF) of the source drawing. Select the source drawing, then Open. Choose a layout or layouts from the list, then OK.
Right-click the sheet set name again to display the shortcut menu. Then, click Insert Sheet List Table. Open an existing sheet set. Click New Sheet.
To add an entire drawing as a view in a sheet, right-click a drawing file. Click Place on Sheet. As an alternative, you can also drag a model space view or a drawing from the Model Views tab to a sheet.
Hold down the Shift key to select multiple AutoCAD files. Next, right-mouse click and then select Combine supported files in Acrobat from the contextual menu. This will bring up the Combine Dialogue box and allow you to rearrange the DWG files, and even select which layouts you want to add to your PDF.
To Create a Sheet Set Click Application menu New Sheet Set. Find. Follow the steps in the Create Sheet Set wizard. Choose one of the following options: An Example Sheet Set. Enter the name, description and location of the new sheet set. Click Finish to display the newly created sheet set in the Sheet Set Manager.
Follow these steps: Enter XATTACH at the command line. Choose the reference files to be merged. Enter XREF at the command line. Hold down the CTRL key and select multiple files in the current drawing. Right-click and select the context menu command Bind In the dialog, choose Bind to bind the references.
To cut, copy, or paste a drawing view: Select the view either on the sheet or in the FeatureManager design tree. Click Cut. or Copy. Change to the target sheet or drawing document, click where you want to paste the view, and click Paste (Standard toolbar) or click Edit Paste.
Insert an Overlay In the Select Reference File dialog box, select the file you want to attach and click Open. In the Attach External Reference dialog box, under Reference Type, select Overlay. Enter the insertion point, scale, and rotation angle or select Specify On-Screen to set these options manually.
To combine multiple drawings in AutoCAD, use the command XREF/XATTACH to insert a reference to the original drawing or use INSERT command to work on the original data without a reference.
