okay lets not sugarcoat it getting a performance Improvement plan sucks because either it means that youre going to be let go soon or it means that youve been doing a really poor job and its been recognized and youre getting one last shot at trying to get things together but its important to know number one which of those categories youre in and number two if theres anything that you can do to fix it this video is going to try to explain a little bit of that to you so you know I realized one good thing about the fact that at the present time my channel is fairly new and theres like not that many subscribers and I dont get a ton of views is that Im in a unique position where I can sort of do whatever I want I can change directions or whatever else so Im kind of saying all that in order to essentially say that if youre watching this right now I would encourage you to subscribe because at least you can follow me on this journey and see where it goes you know its probably not

Every PIP should include a detailed action plan for how the team member can improve. This action plan may include goals, progress milestones, and additional training. In particular, make sure the goals you set are SMART. SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.
Be polite and respectful, but direct: Ms. Lowe, I appreciate the effort you put into crafting the PIP, but I feel its best if I seek a new opportunity elsewhere. Please take this as my 2 weeks notice.
While its true that PIPs are often a prelude to a termination, thats not always the case. If youre given a performance improvement plan, theres hope yet in some cases, you can still fix the issues and keep your job.
If you were put on a performance improvement plan, its generally not a good idea to quit unless you find another job first. You can beat the PIP, even if it was secretly created to force you out.
If youre put on a PIP, take time to process your emotions and understand the situation. Then, carefully review the documents and ask for a detailed plan of action that coincides with your growth at the company. It may help to seek the guidance of a mentor either within the company or a professional career coach.
Take action: Develop a plan to address the performance issues youre experiencing, and take action to implement it. This may involve seeking additional training or support, setting clear goals and timelines for improvement, or making changes to your work habits or approach.
When writing your performance improvement plan follow-up email, ensure to include the following: A brief introduction. A summary of the progress made since the last meeting. A review of the goals set out in the PIP. An assessment of whether the employee is meeting those goals.
How can you tell an employee about a Performance Improvement Plan Prepare in advance. Be the first to add your personal experience. Choose the right time and place. Explain the purpose and process. Provide specific and constructive feedback. Agree on the action plan and follow-up. Heres what else to consider.
