Links have two options: join type and link operator. These settings determine how Crystal Reports matches records from both tables. The default join type is an inner join, which means that only records with a matching key in both tables are included. The default link type is equal.
Enforced From: When you select this option, if the to table for the link is used, the link is enforced. For example, if you create a link from Table A to Table B using Enforce From and select only a field from Table B, the Select statement will still include the join to Table A because it is enforced.
SELECT Syntax SELECT column1, column2, FROM tablename; SELECT * FROM tablename; Example. SELECT CustomerName, City FROM Customers; Example. SELECT * FROM Customers;
Multiple tables can be merged by columns in SQL using joins. Joins merge two tables based on the specified columns (generally, the primary key of one table and a foreign key of the other). Below is the generic syntax of SQL joins. USING (id);
Grouping Data: Select Insert, Group from the menu bar. Select the field to group the data by from the top drop-down list. Select the sort direction from the second drop-down list. Mark the Customize Group Name Field (only available in Crystal Reports 8.5) checkbox to show a different value in the group header. Click OK.
Enforced From: When you select this option, if the to table for the link is used, the link is enforced. For example, if you create a link from Table A to Table B using Enforce From and select only a field from Table B, the Select statement will still include the join to Table A because it is enforced.

SQL Server allows you to join tables from different databases as long as those databases are on the same server. The join syntax is the same; the only difference is that you must fully qualify table names.
The simplest way to combine two tables together is using the keywords UNION or UNION ALL. These two methods pile one lot of selected data on top of the other. The difference between the two keywords is that UNION only takes distinct values, but UNION ALL keeps all of the values selected.
The join is done by the JOIN operator. In the FROM clause, the name of the first table ( product ) is followed by a JOIN keyword then by the name of the second table ( category ). This is then followed by the keyword ON and by the condition for joining the rows from the different tables.
