The company has noticed that someone has been sneaking in at night and stealing food from the breakroom. They have a list of IDs and swipe times from the building badge readers but no names. In order to get the names, they will need to join the badge swiped data to an HR table. To do this, they need to identify a related column between the tables. In both of their data sets, the related column is employee ID. By matching an employee ID, they can take columns from the HR table and add them to the badge swipe table. This new table now shows them the names of the treat thieves and what time they made the heist. Next, the issue begins happening on another campus. So they decided they want to add the data from other campuses to the existing table so they can identify the guilty parties globally. They have separate tables for each campus that they need to combine into one master table using the Append method. For this to work, each table must have the same number of columns in the same orde

Automatic concatenation If the field names and the number of fields of two or more loaded tables are exactly the same, Qlik Sense will automatically concatenate the content of the different statements into one table. Example: LOAD a, b, c from table1.
In Qlik Sense, joins can be made in the script, producing logical tables. It is possible to join tables already in the script. The Qlik Sense logic will then not see the separate tables, but rather the result of the join, which is a single internal table.
Inner join - If we want to load only the matching records in both the tables then use Inner Join. Left join - If we want to load all records in first table and matching records in second table, the unmatched records in second table will be null, in this scenario Left Join is used.
The simplest way to make a join is with the Join prefix in the script, which joins the internal table with another named table or with the last previously created table. The join will be an outer join, creating all possible combinations of values from the two tables. Example: LOAD a, b, c from table1.
For each column that you want in the merged output, first select from the list of available inputs. Inputs are displayed in two separate tables. Select columns to include in the output. Drag columns to create a join between the tables.
Join stage: Input tab (DataStage) The Input tab in the stage editor allows you to specify details about the incoming data sets. Choose an input link from the Input name drop down list to specify which link you want to work on.
Join - will join two tables and convert it to one table. Keep - will implement join logic on two tables and maintains two tables separately.
To create a join: Click New and select Join. In the Data Sources tree, select the first column to include in the join operation. Click Add . Select the second column to include in the join operation. Click Add . Optionally, repeat steps 4 and 5 for any additional columns to be included in the join.
