today were going to talk about cross joins and when they should be used [Music] all right so the cross join is one of the more most seldom used joins thats because it creates whats called a cartesian product so lets see what that means i have a couple tables here so were going to select from a products table and were going to select from a division table and we run those together so the products table has three products soap toothbrush and shampoo and the divisions table has two divisions north and south if we want to bring every combination together of products and divisions we would use the cross join so lets write this out so we select from our products and then we cross join and were cross-joining with divisions now in every other join we always put an on clause in order to say what were joining on in the cross join we dont care the cross join should give us every combination of the two tables so lets run that and what we see here is basically on the division side we ha

Natural Join joins two tables based on same attribute name and datatypes. Cross Join will produce cross or cartesian product of two tables .
Difference between JOIN and INNER JOIN JOIN returns all rows from tables where the key record of one table is equal to the key records of another table. The INNER JOIN selects all rows from both participating tables as long as there is a match between the columns.
A CROSS JOIN produces a cartesian product between the two tables, returning all possible combinations of all rows. It has no ON clause because youre just joining everything to everything. A FULL OUTER JOIN is a combination of a LEFT OUTER and RIGHT OUTER JOIN .
SQL CROSS JOIN Keyword The CROSS JOIN keyword returns all records from both tables (table1 and table2).
In simple terms, a join relies on self-sufficient sets of data, i.e. sets should not depend on each other. On the other hand, CROSS APPLY is only based on one predefined set and can be used with another separately created set. A worked example should help with understanding this difference.
A cross join matches all rows in one table to all rows in another table. An inner join matches on a field or fields. If you have one table with 10 rows and another with 10 rows then the two joins will behave differently.
A cross join is a type of join that returns the Cartesian product of rows from the tables in the join. In other words, it combines each row from the first table with each row from the second table.
LEFT OUTER JOIN - You get all rows from the left table, plus rows from the right table, where they match the left. RIGHT OUTER JOIN - Opposite of Left Join (Rarely used). CROSS JOIN - Joins all rows in both table. If both tables have 10 rows, youll get 100 rows back.
INNER JOIN: returns rows when there is a match in both tables. LEFT JOIN: returns all rows from the left table, even if there are no matches in the right table.
