Girls Who Code welcomes into our community and programs anyone who identifies as female regardless of assignment at birth. Our programs also welcome people who identify as non-binary or gender nonconforming and want to be in a female-identified environment.
Due to limited seating, some applicants may be placed on the waitlist for our Summer Programs. As spots open up, we will begin to offer additional spots to waitlisted students based on interest and availability provided in their application. Please keep an eye on your inbox!
While the committee does conduct a selective process to review candidates, it does appear that they want to accommodate as many applicants as possible and they emphasize that those who apply do not need to have prior coding experience.
The first step to joining a Club is to find one in your area that is accepting additional members. Please note: some Clubs hosted at schools only accept students who attend those schools. Other Clubs hosted at nonprofits, such as libraries, may be open to all eligible students in the community.
Students should expect to spend 8-15 hours on a track. To be considered Self-Paced Program alumni and join the Girls Who Code Alumni Network, students need to complete at least one course and earn one certificate.
Complete your application here! Programs are available June 17 August 12. Youll get priority consideration when you apply by February 16, 2022. Regular-decision applications are due by March 18, 2022.
We do have a selective application process and consider a wide array of factors for acceptance into the program. While we try to accommodate as many girls as possible off the waitlist, the number of available seats varies by region and program round so we cannot guarantee placement.
