One quick and easy way to add values in Excel is to use AutoSum. Just select an empty cell directly below a column of data. Then on the Formula tab, click AutoSum Sum. Excel will automatically sense the range to be summed.
Here are the steps to merge these tables: Click on the Data tab. In the Get Transform Data group, click on Get Data. In the drop-down, click on Combine Queries. Click on Merge. In the Merge dialog box, Select Merge1 from the first drop down. Select Region from the second drop down.
Both of these functions let you join (concatenate) text in different cells together. TEXTJOIN lets you join values with a delimiter of your choice, and has an option to ignore empty values. CONCAT simply mashes all values together without options.
Select the data (including any summary rows or columns). On the Data tab, in the Outline group, click Group Group Rows or Group Columns. Optionally, if you want to outline an inner, nested group select the rows or columns within the outlined data range, and repeat step 3.
How to use TEXTJOIN in Excel Type the introductory text. Start your TEXTJOIN function by typing the phrase =TEXTJOIN. Define your delimiter text. Type your delimiter text after the starting parenthesis and comma in your syntax. Add your ignoreempty value. Input your defined cells. Defining cell range.
The TEXTJOIN function combines the text from multiple ranges and/or strings, and includes a delimiter you specify between each text value that will be combined.
Merge cells Select the cells to merge. Select Merge Center. Important: When you merge multiple cells, the contents of only one cell (the upper-left cell for left-to-right languages, or the upper-right cell for right-to-left languages) appear in the merged cell.
There can be a maximum of 252 text arguments for the text items, including text1. Each can be a text string, or array of strings, such as a range of cells. For example, =TEXTJOIN( ,TRUE, The, sun, will, come, up, tomorrow.) will return The sun will come up tomorrow.
