If you really want a job, dont apply with a fancy resume template. Instead of making you stand out, it is far more likely to make you invisible.
In general, follow this rule for the titles of written works: Long works are italicized. Short works are enclosed in quotation marks.
For date ranges, use space-dash-space formatting: June August 2017 not June-August 2017. Be sure that same style of dash (shorter hyphen or slightly longer en-dash) is used consistently throughout. Align dates on the right margin.
Your resume should list your work experience succinctly and clearly for the reader. Employers have many resumes to go through in a short time, and you dont want them to stumble as they read your resume. That said, write the dates in full ranges, for example, March 2019 to November 2020.
The goal here is to be consistent in font and font size, but more importantly in the format. The company name is bold with correct spelling, Job title(s) italicized just below the company and responsibilities you held or acquired while in that position.
Italics and bold: Similar to many of the other examples thus far, if youre going to bold the job title for one job, make sure you do it for all job titles listed. Again, if you italicize the date range of a job, make sure to italicize all date ranges.
Many resume writers may bold their previous job titles and italicize subheadings within each section of the document.
Use bold fonts sparingly, and only to highlight key items such as the names of companies, job titles, or degrees. Some people use bold fonts to highlight key skills and qualifications, and thats fine.
