Remember that italic lettering has a slight slant, so the bottom curve of these letters should be positioned a little further to the left than the top curve. That is decided when you make the first stroke. Draw it to fit an imaginary slanting line.
Italicization is used for gentle emphasis, bold is used for heavier emphasis. All caps are another alternative means of emphasis. None of these should be used on more than a few words together. Think more in terms of emphasizing keywords. Remember, in web pages, underlining should only be used for links.
To put the selected text in italics, press the Ctrl + I keys. To underline the selected text, press Ctrl + U keys. To undo text formatting, use the same keyboard shortcuts. For example, to remove the underline from selected text, press Ctrl + U again.
To apply a style (bold, italic, underscore) to a word or a block of text, highlight it and touch the Settings icon at the lower right: Touch the Styles icon: Choose the style you want and it will be applied to the selection. Touch the script again and the Style window will disappear.
To make the selected characters italic, select Ctrl+I. The characters are displayed in italic type. In writing for customers, use regular type to describe type thats neither bold nor italic.
For example, if you want all of your action to be in italics, Go to Format Elements Settings (Windows) or Format Elements (Mac); Choose Action from the list on the left; Click the Font tab; Click Set Font; Click Italics in the Font Style box (Windows) or Style Attributes box (Mac) and OK your way back to the script.
Press the CTRL and I keys on your keyboard at the same time to enable italics in Windows.
Use CTRL + H to bring up the Find and Replace dialog box. In the Find what field, enter the text (Controlling) you want to replace with Italics. In the Replace format options, select Fonts Font style italic and click Ok.
