first you want to look at your object and determine where the light source in your scene is coming from then add a drop shadow and set it to match that same angle pro tip donamp;#39;t use black for your shadows use a darker version of the background color instead separate the shadow into its own layer and apply a motion blur filter to it again set the direction of the blur to match the direction of your light source adding some extra gaussian blur to that will help soften things up now you can erase some of the shadows around the edges where it may seem a bit too harsh next this side of the object shouldnamp;#39;t be so light so paint over this area with a darker color then add in some extra shading on this entire side to create more depth adding a hint of lighting to your background is the final touch that will help tie everything together i use custom shadows like these in my designs all the time so if youamp;#39;d like to become a better designer check out more of my videos like
