hello grammarians hello Paige hi David So Paige have you ever heard of this man Aldis minucius I donamp;#39;t think I have thatamp;#39;s a pretty cool name though his his his given name was actually Aldo manuo he was a Venetian printer around 1500 and this guy invented the italic type face what yeah so italic is this this word that really just comes from Italy right so heamp;#39;s from Venice which is in modern day Italy uh and what it refers to is TE that is kind of on its side so like this kind of slopes to the right thatamp;#39;s italic um and he was one of the first printers so he had this movable type printing machine this press uh and he uh developed these letters he cut them into pieces of metal and he developed this kind of slanted style and today we call this the italic type face wow yeah actually technically weamp;#39;d call this the italic script because itamp;#39;s based on an earlier kind of uh hand from calligraphy but all the same today we have this thing in text c
