note that these are csv files not excel files psp file is a text file and can be open with excel but itamp;#39;s in fact a text file where each field is separated by a comma and csv stands by for comma separated values if i go right click instead of double clicking if i go right click and do open with here and do notepad it open on the other screen but iamp;#39;ll move it over here this is what we get so thereamp;#39;s two rows here at the top with some kind of title information and then from here we have the name of the field comma the name of the field commas this will be the column titles and then from here each row is a record so thereamp;#39;s a record for march 21 2020. this is the sales rep id and then the product id is this one and then comment lastly we have quantity sometimes these files generated in europe may come with semicolon instead of colon because in europe and other countries maybe other places decimal separator is comma iamp;#39;m working in north ameri

To deal with these embedded commas, CSV files use quotation marks to identify text that should be grouped together, so commas between quotation marks are not read as field separators. If you need to remove quotation marks from your export, you can do that quickly in Excel, for example, using the Find/Replace function.
1 Answer. CSV stands for Comma/Character Separated Values plain text, no formatting, except for the optional header line and the character that separates the values. If you need to define formatting like font colors in the source file, you would have to use another file format like (X)HTML, XLS or RTF.
Please be informed that CSV doesnot allow any formatting like Bold, and other formatting. The only possibility is to use the Table tool (in Reporting palette) and you can output in the Excel format to keep the bold reflected in the output extracted.
How to change the field separator (delimiter) in Excel when saving as a CSV file In Microsoft Windows, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. Open the dialog box for changing Regional and Language settings. In the dialog box, look for the List separator setting. Enter the desired list separator.
Go to File Save As. Click Browse. In the Save As dialog box, under Save as type box, choose the text file format for the worksheet; for example, click Text (Tab delimited) or CSV (Comma delimited).
Data saved in CSV will not retain data formatting.
Theres no way to do that in CSV. You could all caps the output, or you could use another format that supports text styles. CSV only contains data, it doesnt contain any formatting information. If you need to format your data, Id suggest actually creating an XLS file instead of a CSV file.
When you open a csv with excel you can color the cell but when you save it as csv, the color and other excel features wont reflect as you are saving it as CSV. You can achieve the same in . xlsx format. Hope it helps.
