protect yourself verifying a signers ID a notaries most important responsibility is to help prevent forgeries and that starts with properly identifying signers sounds easy enough but the fact is failure to properly identify signers is one of the most common and costly mistakes a notary can make itamp;#39;s also one of the most easily avoidable with a bit of advanced preparation get to know your stateamp;#39;s IDs and US passports because these are their IDs youamp;#39;ll see most often make sure youamp;#39;re familiar with their security features and the information elements on the front and back when a signer comes to you ask them to take out their ID out of their wallet or purse so you can touch it most oh therese donamp;#39;t spend enough time inspecting IDs take a close look at the photo then the signer then do it again the photo and physical description should reasonably match the person in front of you now check the expiration date then the other pieces of information is all

Entries should be double-spaced and may be formatted in flush-and-hang style Latin words and abbreviations Commonly used Latin words and abbreviations should not be italicized.
Both in vitro and in vivo are most often used in scientific writing. Example: The cancer cells were grown in vitro in a controlled environment. The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS) and the American Psychological Association suggest that common abbreviations need not be italicized.
Italics are not used if words or phrases are considered to have become part of the English language, eg, caf au lait, in vivo, in vitro, en bloc. Merriam-Websters online dictionary lists ad libitum, so there is no need to italicize it.
Lowercase prepositions, regardless of length, except when they are used adverbially or adjectivally (up in Look Up; down in Turn Down; on in The On Button; to in Come To, etc.) or when they compose part of a Latin expression used adjectivally or adverbially (A Priori, De Facto, In Vitro, etc.).
The abbreviation id. stands for idem, which means the same person. It is used in place of ibid. when the same author is cited but not the same page number. In such instances, ibid. is only used to repeat the preceding citation exactly.
and op. cit. Observe that it is usual to write Latin abbreviations in italics, but this is not strictly essential, and many people dont bother.
CBE considers whether a Latin word is common and suggests that in vitro and in vivo not be italicized.
Most publishers and style guides instruct authors not to use italics for such phrases. Both Springer and Elsevier, for example, insist on setting in vitro, in vivo, and in situ in normal, or Roman, font, and so does the Chicago Manual of Style and Scientific Style and Format.
